Aims

We have introduced service elements in our regular debate competitions. Through the debates, we hope to enable more local students to think out of the box, moreover, discuss international affairs and children-related issues, so as to promote the spirit of service and spark advocacy on some of these crucial topics. The event also provides a new platform for Hong Kong students to improve their debate skills, where students are able to have more opportunities to compete under the pandemic. In addition, the event will also act as a medium for the local academic community to get in touch with our organization. We, therefore, sincerely wish to promote the objectives of our organization and attract more students to get involved.

Introduction

The Dream Compassioneers Debate Competition is the first service-oriented secondary school debate competition in Hong Kong. It is in line with our beliefs and aims to prompt complete dedication and promote the spirit of service. Our debate topics include the most contentious and arguable global affairs, as well as philosophical topics related to fostering virtues. There will be eight contestant quotas in total, in which each participating team is required to send out four team members. Fourteen days will be given for preparation in each of the rounds. Following the preliminary, intermediary and final contest, honours including, the champion, 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up of the competition will be awarded to the winning teams. We are honoured to invite Bishop Hall Jubilee School and Heep Yunn School as our co-organizers in this competition.
