The Dream Compassioneers team has just returned to Hong Kong after completing a five-day service experience trip to the Philippines. Departing from Hong Kong in early April, the team first traveled to Manila, where they visited the local "cemetery slums" and the historic district widely regarded as the world's first Chinatown, established in 1594 — gaining a multifaceted understanding of Philippine society and the long-standing cultural ties between China and the Philippines. The team then flew to Cebu to begin their service and exchange journey.

In Cebu, the team held in-depth exchanges with the Philippine Red Cross (Cebu Chapter) and Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, the volunteer service team of the University of the Philippines (Cebu campus). Discussions explored the role of youth volunteers in typhoon relief, scientific approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of volunteer teaching, and the possibility of future memoranda of understanding and joint training programmes.
